Orange stains, rusty laundry, slimy toilet tanks, a rotten-egg smell? That’s iron, and often sulfur with it, and many local wells have 3 to 15 times the amount it takes to stain. The Iron Breaker oxidizes it with ozone and filters it out in one tank, before it reaches your fixtures or your softener.

In short
Deep well water carries no oxygen, so iron stays dissolved and invisible until air reaches it, then turns to rust on your sink, your laundry and inside your softener. Staining starts at 0.3 ppm, the EPA secondary standard. Oxidizing the iron on purpose, in a tank, and trapping it there is the fix.
Ozone oxidation and filtration in one tank. Iron, sulfur and manganese, gone
Orange sinks, rust-streaked laundry and clogged aerators stop at the source. Iron never reaches the fixtures.
Iron fouls softener resin permanently. Putting the Iron Breaker first lets the softener do the job it was built for, for years longer.
Manganese and hydrogen sulfide resist weak oxidizers. Ozone converts both, and the same bed captures them.
Scheduled backwash lifts the bed, flushes collected iron to drain and resets the system. No cartridges to change.

A softener captures some dissolved iron, but once oxygen reaches the resin the iron oxidizes inside the beads and brine can’t wash it out. Capacity falls and the softener dies young. The Iron Breaker takes the iron out first so the softener only has to soften.
No. The oxidizer is an onboard ozone generator that makes ozone from room air, and the tank backwashes with your own water. No chlorine, no peroxide, no feed pump, no salt.
Yes. Ozone oxidizes hydrogen sulfide the same way it oxidizes iron, and it disinfects as it goes, which ends the iron and sulfur bacteria slime that air-only systems leave behind.
Up to 6 ppm at a pH between 6.5 and 8.0, which covers most wells in the area. If your water tests outside that range we design around it rather than hoping.
5 years on the Clack WS1 valve and 10 years on the tank. It’s the same valve as our softeners, serviced the same way.
We test hardness, iron, pH and TDS at your house and tell you what, if anything, your water needs.
